How does it work?

The bleaching gel is usually hydrogen or carbamide peroxide that breaks down into oxygen molecules. These molecules go into the tiny pores of the enamel and dentin, and break up the stains that block out the light. As the stains are broken into smaller and smaller pieces, more light passes through the teeth and makes them look lighter. Stains that are accumulated over time that are yellow to slightly brown produce the best results. Teeth that are dark brown to blue-gray are the most difficult to bleach because the stain is deeply embedded into the tooth’s structure. These types of stains are usually caused by medications taken during the development of the teeth such as tetracycline, and can take a minimum of three weeks to see results, and as much as six months for complete results.

Depending on the bleaching gel used and the length of time it is worn, results can be seen within an hour, overnight or within three to four days. Complete results can be achieved in as little as a week or as much as several months depending on the source of the stain and the ability of the teeth or tooth to be bleached. The whitening procedure may last for up to three years -- even longer in some cases, depending on personal habits. To brighten the colour back up, a simple process of bleaching for one or two nights with a single syringe is usually sufficient.

Instructions for use

• Bring a pan of water to boil, then remove from heat.
• Holding the tray/mouthpiece handle, dip the tray in the water for about 3 seconds.
• Remove the tray from the water for about 3 seconds, Place the tray in your mouth and mould it around your teeth by pressing firmly on the inside and outside of your teeth with your fingers.
• Allow the tray to cool while still inside your mouth.
• Remove the tray. Repeat this process for the lower tray.

• Brush and floss before and after each whitening treatment.
• Place a small bead of whitening gel on the inside front of each tooth reservoir. Usually 1/4 to 1/2cc.
• Place trays one at a time into your mouth.
• Use a cotton swab to remove excess gel on the gum line.
• Wear the filled trays for 5 minutes. Start slow to check for irritation.
• Be sure your gums are free from gel to minimise this possibility.

What active ingredients does your kit contain?

The gel's active ingredient is Carbamide Peroxide, also known as Hydrogen Peroxide Urea.
 

What is the strength of the gel?

The strength of the gel in our kits is 36%. Most Dentists will use 16% to treat your teeth as these are considered safe low levels. However, results using these low level treatments may leave you with teeth with a very similar colour as you started off with.
 

What is the PH Level of your gel?

The PH level in our gel is 6.7 to 7.2 which is considered very safe to use on all types of teeth and is a level recently recommended by the Daily Mail in a teeth whitening feature.
 

Does it give the same results as lower strength gels?

No, if you look at the testimonials, the time it takes to have your teeth whiter using a lower grade of gel is much longer. Many people give up after a week with lower strength gels.

Is this process harmful to my teeth?

No, not if the procedure is followed properly. The effect on the teeth appears to be no different than the effect from commonly ingested foods or regular dental procedures. The gel does not weaken the teeth or harms the enamel in any way.

Can I whiten my teeth while I'm pregnant?

There has not been sufficient testing done on the effects of using a peroxide gel while pregnant. Therefore, we recommend that you not use any whitening system, teeth whitening at home is also not recommended for anyone under 16.

 

How white will my teeth get?

As our gel is strong, you will start to notice results within 2 to 3 days. However, depending on their original colour will depend on the increase in whiteness.

 

How soon will I see results?

In the majority of cases almost immediately. The gel substance works very quickly, but your progress will depend on the nature and depth of your stains. The process should take from 2-3 weeks for deep yellow stains.

 

Can I use the kits if I have crowns or false teeth?

Yes you can use the whitening system without any effect on your porcelain/plastic caps/crowns/bridges, but it will only work on natural teeth and does not whiten any dental work.

Once I have completed the treatments, how often should I touch-up?

Once you have completed your treatments, you should be at your optimum whiteness. Depending on your age and diet, your teeth will stay a bright white for many years.

How should the kit be stored?

The teeth whitener kit should be stored at a temperature above freezing and under 85ºF and out of direct sunlight. We recommend storing the gel in the fridge, stored correctly the gel has a shelf life of about 2 years.

What does the gel taste like?

The gel has a mild but pleasant mint taste to it.

Is the packaging discreet?

All orders are posted in plain brown padded envelopes, they do not have anything on them that relates to the product inside. Totally discreet packaging.

Have any ingrediennts been tested on animals?

None of the ingredients contained within our gel has been tested on or have been derived from animals.
